"Traveling is how you find yourself."
Travel doesnt magically reveal a hidden, perfect version of you. It simply strips away your daily routines and
More than 15 years ago, I walked the Camino de Santiago.
Back then, I had inspired my partner to read Paulo Coelhoโs book, which sparked her desire to go on the pilgrimage. I offered to plan the trip, but I approached it with the wrong mindset: I tried to control everything, acting like a seasoned guide when, in reality, I wasnt ready.
My rigid schedule constrained the experience for both of us. Then, barely 100 km in, I got injured.
It was entirely my fault.

I had packed far too much, using physical items to compensate for a lack of mental preparation. Trying to force control into a journey that required adaptability led straight to physical overload.
After a disagreement on the trail, we split up for a stretch. Walking alone in silence, an uncomfortable truth hit me: my need for control was ruining the experience.
I didnt find myself on that trail 15 years ago.
I simply exposed who I was back then: someone letting ego and rigid planning dictate the journey.
That experienceโalong with many other lessons learned over the yearsโforced me to re-examine trip organization from every angle. It taught me that great travel design isnt about control or superficial hype; its about deep empathy, seamless execution, and understanding real human dynamics.
Real travel isnt a romantic shortcut.
At Ower, we leverage those hard-earned lessons to craft journeys that eliminate unnecessary friction, allowing our travelers to connect authentically with the culture and with each other.
